FAQs

What is a professional organizer?
The definition given by the National Association of Professional Organizers is as follows: A Professional Organizer enhances the lives of clients by designing systems and processes using organizing principles and through transferring organizing skills. A Professional Organizer also educates the public on organizing solutions and the resulting benefits.

What is your organizing process?
I start by a visit to assess your areas of concern. I’ll take notes, pictures, and measurements so that I can give you detailed recommendations for organizing the areas discussed. We will set up a time and get started on sorting and setting up systems to get organized.

You may want to work with me side-by-side on some projects, while others you may want to leave to me entirely.  It's your choice and you can change your mind at any time.

Will you make me throw everything/anything away?
I will never throw anything away without your permission. My goal is to help you determine which items are most important to you.

How and what do you charge?
I will send you a detailed quote after my assessment. Payment is due at the time of service. I accept cash or check.

Do you charge for cancellations?
Cancellations with less than a 24 hour notice will be charged one hour’s fee.

Do you have a minimum number of hours per appointment?
I generally recommend that appointments run between 2 and 4 hours in length to gain momentum, but avoid exhaustion and frustration.  It may take multiple appointments to complete your project.
